Round 4 In the Books

February 9, 2020 by Katie Filed Under: Cancer Leave a Comment

It’s Sunday- which is day 3 post chemo. It is a WINDY day here and Justin has been outside getting some fresh air with the kids for a while now. Between the flu and chemo- we have been a bit cooped up the last 2 weeks and everyone needed some fresh air and exercise!

So Thursday was round 4/6 and I went into it feeling REALLY GOOD. My body felt in great shape and all my labs looked good and I really went into it with a super positive energy.

And I was super lucky to have yet another great Chemo Date. My good friend Melissa- friends for 20 years (!!) flew up from Los Angeles to take me to round 4. We have seen each other very little since we started having kids…but it was like no time had passed at all.

To have Melissa bring me to round 4 and Somer bring me to round 2 was just so damn special. Look at us….

Me, Melissa and Somer on my wedding weekend.

Somer and I at her wedding
Melissa and Flat Katie at her wedding- Justin’s father had just passed away unexpectedly and I wasn’t able to be there- which was super painful for me. Thankfully Flat Katie partied hard with everyone!

I just love going though old pictures….

Anyway! So round 4….

As usual- the infusion itself went off without a hitch. I got my pre meds and my bag of fluids and my 4 cancer killing drugs…we had some lunch in there and were done by 2:15!

Chemo Aftermath

And we went to chemo in style- Melissa had some Golden Girl Themed sweatshirts and bags made for us (and our friend Megan too!). Gotta love Sophia….

Here I am after getting my port accessed and ready to GO.

So now it’s day 3 and I am doing really well. This has been the easiest round so far by day 3. I am tired and slept 12 hours last night- but I’ve had less nausea and diarrhea than in the past at this point. I am just trying to take it easy and let my body to it’s thing- and kick this cancer’s ass.

In other news- our old house is on the market! We are hoping it sells QUICK! Here’s a link- please share if you know anyone who is interested in a home in San Ramon: https://www.redfin.com/CA/San-Ramon/1155-Canyon-Hills-Rd-94582/home/738082

I guess that is about it for now! Off to relax and let my body heal…
